Quite simply, this brush and the three other brushes in the Oriental Art Supply Flow line are essential for those serious about authentic brushes for Chinese Brush Painting or Calligraphy.
Once you paint a bone stroke with one of these brushes, you will understand how a high quality calligraphy or sumi-e brush is supposed to perform. It feels like an extension of your arm. It accomplishes supple, full strokes with wonderful color variation while still maintaining its point.
Beware of imitations. If it is not sold by Oriental Art Supply, it is not an authentic "Flow" brush. There are people selling much poorer quality brushes with the name Flow somewhere in it. It should say "OAS" on the handle and should be sold by Oriental Art Supply. These brushes are not the cheapest ones out there but they are the best.
