(More customer reviews)This medium has the heaviest body of any around - about as thick as mayonaisse. It works well when you start to lose the distinction between impasto and sculptural effects. Details stand up well in it and, although there's some shrinkage in drying, it shrinks less than other media. When used to modify the body of liquids, even inks, this gives great thickening power with just a little medium.
It also works well as an adhesive for collage and the like, using just about any porous substrate and some nonporous ones. It's transparent when dry (thick layers can look milky, though) but white when wet, so you can see where it's going. The heavy body fills crevices in irregular surfaces, and its high viscosity means it soaks through less than anything else I've tried. If you've had disappointments with liquid glue bleeding into and discoloring delicate papers, give it a shot - after patch testing, of course. And, like all Golden acrylics, this archival material won't damage paper or other materials, is compatible with other acrylics, and washes up with water, as long as you get it before it dries.
Great stuff, but goes fast.
