(More customer reviews)This is an incredible collection of materials for those who are seriously interested learning Chinese Brush Painting or Sumi-e. The brushes are of the best quality and are diverse enough to paint almost any subject you can imagine. Very nice porcelain accessories and excellent ink, color and paper.
The accompanying instructional book, Chinese Brush Painting: An Instructional Guide is absolutely a must have (even if you don't get the set) and does a great job of demonstrating how the supplies are to be used in painting a variety of different subjects.
I bought this after I got a much cheaper set with a fancy looking box. The materials is that set turned out to be very poor quality...so bad that I could not even paint with them.
Had I not purchased that set, I would not have understood how great the materials in this set are. The set truly lives up to its name...it really is the "Ultimate Artist Set" for Chinese Painting. Now I'm working hard on becoming the "Ultimate Artist" so I can justify owning the "Ultimate Artist Set"
