Running off two AA batteries, the powerful small motor is housed in a durable and comfortably sized handle. In operation, the metal shaft and mixing head quickly and thoroughly mix solvent and pigment in even small paint jars. So long as you are careful to completely submerge the mix head before applying power, there should be no problem with splash or spray. It cleans with a simple rinse. Incidentally, VitaMinder uses the same motor housing, with a nylon whisk, and markets it as its Drink Mixer (reviewed elsewhere). A rugged and completely functional small tool, this Badger device is much less expensive, simpler, more reliable and time efficient than the Robart Paint Shaker. Once you've used it, it becomes indispensable.
