(More customer reviews)As an artist, I don't like spending a fortune on art supplies. So I tried cheaper ones and wished I hadn't. I've used these for years now and they work for me every time. I have used these on traditional papers but in recent years began using them on specialized papers. They perform well on all. They are soft and crumbly to use. Many oil pastels are harder in composition but they do not give off the shine and sheen of the Sennelier oil pastels. I find these particularly good for painting a mixed media work. I can pick some other, harder media to make hard edges and then use the Senneliers to build up the layers around the hard edges.
