(More customer reviews)This is a good little set. Shipped very quickly. They are meant more for painting than for calligraphy. The brushes are of decent quality, but may be a bit difficult to control for the beginner. A nice set overall.

Bristle length 3/4", 1/8" diameter, with 7" long natural colored bamboo handle. This brush serves as a basic liner. As its name "Ye Jing"("Leaf Vein") suggests, it is commonly used for defining veins on leaves and drawing of other details. It is also known as a "Happy Dot" brush. This set of three brushes are perfect for beginner. In painting a blue heron, for example, you would use the sheep brush to paint the body part with light blue gray and then use the wolf brush to draw the legs and dot the eye with the Happy Dot stiff brush.
