(More customer reviews)I used this to soften water for my aquariums. I had to control hardness now ever since our water softener broke down. You just have to do it slowly as the powder clouds the water and takes time to clear out. If you overdo it, the water becomes so alkaline and you will need acid powder (from Walmart) to balance PH.
